The following packages include guided walks through the rainforest, exotic tropical fruit tasting walks, and guided early morning birding. Boogey boarding along the Pacific shore, and the activities around the lodge such as cooling off in the forest stream pools, enjoying the pool and games area are also included. We also have snorkeling equipment and yoga mats available at the Lodge for our guests. Visiting the local community of Punta Banco where one can shop for Ngobe indigenous crafts or watch a soccer match by the beach are also at no additional cost. There is never a shortage of things to do at Tiskita, and lying in one’s hammock watching wildlife may be the best choice of all. In addition to the activities included with these packages, there are numerous additional activities that come at a small additional cost to our visitors. Sea fishing, mountain bike rentals, horseback riding, surfing lessons and additional guided walks are all available; their prices are listed below.
The following rates are for our most popular package, which includes accommodation, 3 meals a day, 2 guided walks and all applicable taxes. There are several options available to get to Tiskita. Guests can take a regional flight to Golfito or there is also the option of taking a direct charter flight into Tiskita. Transport Options to Tiskita
Option 1: Regional flight San Jose-Golfito‐taxi to Tiskita roundtrip
Guests take a regional flight from San Jose to Golfito and then a scenic taxi ride from Golfito to Tiskita with the option to stop and photograph scenery. The total trip takes approximately 3 hours each way.
Option 2: Regional flight San Jose-Jimenez, boat to Tiskita, return by taxi to Golfito and regional flight from Golfito to San Jose
We have recently introduced this option. It provides a nice alternative to option one. Guests fly from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez on the Osa Peninsula from here they take a scenic boat trip where dolphins and whales can be observed and arrive at Tiskita. The return trip is the same as Option 1; a taxi from Tiskita to Golfito followed by a regional flight from Golfito back to San Jose.
Option 3: Direct Charter Flight San Jose-Tiskita-San Jose
This option has you fly from San Jose directly to the Tiskita airstrip. It is the shortest way to get to Tiskita and takes only 1hr and 15 min each way. The flight traverses a large part of the country and is a great opportunity to see it all from the air. You leave the central valley and go over the mountains, then you continue along the coastline to Peninsula de Osa and across the Golfo Dulce to Tiskita's private airstrip.
Option 4: Drive to Tiskita
This option is the longest but also a great way to see the country. Driving to Tiskita from San Jose takes approximately 8hrs each way, from Uvita it is a 3hr ride, from Dominical 3.5hrs, from Wilso Botanical Gardens it is also a 3hr ride. If you are driving from a different location inquire at the office. We also provide driving directions and a small map.
Transport costs from San Jose to Tiskita roundtrip
The chart below illustrates the cost difference between transport options based on the price for Option 1 (Regional flight and taxi). Option 2 and 3 prices are additional costs to the Regional flight + taxi roundtrip option. Option 2 is a great option for guests that are vacationing in the Osa Peninsula. When there is a party of 3, 5, or 6 people the charter option is very attractive. Please refer to our charter flight policies below.Prices are per person and for roundtrip fares from San Jose-Tiskita-San Jose. Other options can also be arranged, please inquire when booking, ie. Charter flights to and from Quepos, Tortuguero, Arenal or other areas in the country.
